Hi! I am beyond uncomfortable asking for money from other people, but my partner and I really need help to save our chicken, Barbara.
Barb needs surgery to fix a shattered tibiotarsus (the bone between her femur and her lower leg). After three attempts at splinting her leg, the vet told me on Friday that surgery is really her only option other than humane euthanasia, and I really don't want to do that because she is perfectly happy and healthy aside from her broken leg. It just doesn't feel fair to not at least try to raise the funds we need for this.
I know that to some people, Barbara would be "just a chicken," but that's not the case to my partner and me. Our animals at the Funny Farm—that's what we named our home—are everything to us. If Barbara were a cat or dog, we would pursue every option possible to help her have the best quality of life; her being a chicken is no different.

I'm also working to create stickers and t-shirts and other items to support Barbara, if you'd like to contribute and receive something physical in return. We have GOT to stop being assholes to people with receding and balding hairlines. There's not a single person that it can't affect. It affects trans men, particularly on hormones, it affects trans women, particularly those not on hormones, it affects people with endocrine issues, something that's becoming more prevalent and common, and it can affect people without a particular cause, including cis women. It's a normal part of being human and we NEED to stop dehumanizing and humiliating ppl for it
